March 11, 2005 - The Crookston Vitality Project steering committee has hired Angie
Sip
to take the
reins
as the CVP works toward a strategic planning document
that maps Crookston's next few years.
Sip, originally from Crookston, moved to Fisher when she was 16 and
graduated from Fisher High School. In high school, she was a post-secondary
enrollment option (PSEO) student at UMC. She graduated from the University
of Minnesota in the Twin Cities last year with a bachelor's degree
in communications. She has family living in Crookston, Fisher and Ada.
The Vitality Project sector groups continue to meet with the goal
of crafting priority lists in various issue areas by the summer. Sip
is currently getting acquainted with the sector groups and the CVP's
history and process. When the sector groups finish their work, she
will be the lead writer of a strategic planning document for the community
that encompasses the top priorities identified by the sector groups.
"I'm excited, because I think it's a great opportunity to bring
the community together," Sip said. "We need to get young
people to want to come here, and we also need to keep the people that
are already here."
Sip succeeds Carrie Bang, who led the CVP's information-gathering
phase last year and coordinated the September CVP kick-off event at
the high school.
