December 2,
2004 - The people named sector leaders as the Crookston Vitality Project
enters
its next phase are starting to conduct meetings with their sector
groups. Citizens
who haven't yet had an opportunity to sign up to be involved in a group
are invited to attend any sector group meetings they wish.
Ann Graham, leader
of the Community Leadership & Involvement sector group, will conduct
the group's first meeting this afternoon from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in
the Valley Technology Park conference room. Dave Genereux, leader of
the Economic Vitality & Community Development sector group, will
host a meeting at City Hall tonight at 7 p.m. Craig Morgan, leader
of the Parks, Recreation & Natural Resources sector, will meet
with his group on Monday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church.
Other sector leaders
are Chad Palm, leader of the Education (from early childhood to higher
ed and lifelong learning) sector, and Jana Brekken, leader of the Healthcare & Human
Services sector.
The goal of each
group will be to develop a vision and action plan for their specific
area of the community.
This phase of the
Crookston Vitality Project is expected to conclude with a three to
five-year strategic plan written by the end of 2005.
The CVP Steering
Committee, boosted by the recent awarding of a grant from the Northwest
Minnesota Foundation, has approved the job description for a coordinator
of phase two and will soon begin advertising for applicants.
